University of Florida Identification Numbers
UFID Home | Students | UF Software Developers | Background
Much work has been published about identifiers. The following links refer to representative information about the use of Social Security Numbers and alternative approaches to identifying individuals. Many of the following links were obtained from the University of Illinois SSN web site (http://www.ssn.uillinois.edu/ssn.html). Others were included on the project web page of the UF Student Identification Numbers Policy Committee.
Social Security numbers are highly confidential and legally protected data. The University of Florida is committed to protecting the privacy of the entire University community which includes students, faculty, staff, and a diverse array of others who are affiliated with the institution.
